
The National Sports Governance Bill cleared the Lok Sabha on Monday amidst continuous uproar in the Parliament. The bill, presented by Youth and Sports Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, has provisions to bring all sports bodies under its ambit. After the bill passes in the Rajya Sabha, even the autonomous BCCI will be included within the new regulations. The Bill will not make BCCI open for RTI (Right to Information) only the financial matters. Other administrative aspects of the BCCI will be affected. Under this act, all national federations will have to adhere to the country’s laws. Even those not receiving financial aid from the ministry will be subject to the parliamentary act. The National Sports Governance Act 2025 will include the National Olympic Association, National Para Olympic Association, and all sports bodies from the state to district level under the Ministry of Sports.
