A devastating stampede at a rally led by Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu, resulted in 41 deaths. In response to the tragedy, posters criticizing Vijay and portraying him with bloodstained hands were displayed but later removed. Vijay, after the incident, conducted a video conference with senior party members to assess the situation. The victims included a mix of men, women, and children. The chaotic conditions at the rally venue reportedly contributed to the stampede. Financial aid has been promised by Vijay for the families of the deceased and the injured. Further assistance will be provided by the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.
