Former Supreme Court judge B Sudershan Reddy, nominated as the INDIA bloc’s Vice-Presidential candidate, acknowledged Rahul Gandhi’s efforts in maintaining public engagement and driving government action. Reddy highlighted Gandhi’s role in securing a caste census in Telangana as a significant achievement. Simultaneously, Reddy expressed apprehension over the SIR process in Bihar, asserting that any infringement upon the right to vote undermines the Constitution. Reddy quoted Lohia to explain his stance. The nomination was signed by 80 MPs. He will contest against CP Radhakrishnan. The election date is scheduled for September 9.
