
A shocking case of violence has emerged from Surat, Gujarat, where a woman was reportedly subjected to gang-rape and attempted murder by her husband and his associates. The incident was allegedly triggered by the husband’s suspicion that his wife was involved in an extramarital relationship. The woman, 35, was first assaulted by her husband, Ganesh Rajput, and then subjected to gang-rape at a rented location, along with his friend Prince Kumar, 22.
On July 24, Ganesh Rajput attacked his wife with a hammer and a knife. The next day, the gang-rape occurred. Afterward, two more individuals, identified as Vijay alias Kachyo Ishwarbhai Rathod, 29, and Appa Jagannath Waghmare, 39, were involved to get rid of the body. They took the woman to a remote location, tied her up, and threw her into the Tapi River, presuming she was dead. However, the woman miraculously survived and reported the horrific incident to the Kapodara police station.
The police have arrested the accused and registered a case of gang rape and attempted murder. Investigations revealed that the main suspect, Ganesh Rajput, has a criminal history, with 26 cases already registered against him in Surat.
