AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has forcefully denounced claims made by Dr. Umar Nabi, an accused in the Delhi car blast, who appears to justify suicide attacks in a resurfaced video. Owaisi’s stern response underscores the stark reality that these actions are unequivocally terrorism, devoid of any religious legitimacy.
In the controversial video, Dr. Nabi describes suicide bombings as ‘martyrdom operations’ and a ‘misunderstood concept’ within Islamic teachings. Owaisi vehemently refuted this interpretation, reaffirming that Islamic doctrines strictly prohibit self-harm and the murder of innocent civilians. He asserted that such acts represent pure terrorism and cannot be re-contextualized.
Owaisi also voiced significant concerns about the detection of this terror network, which reportedly comprises highly educated individuals. He questioned the discrepancy between the group’s existence and earlier parliamentary statements indicating a lack of local recruitment for terror outfits. The AIMIM chief called for transparency regarding the intelligence failures that allowed this module to operate.
The Delhi blast, a devastating incident near the Red Fort Metro station, has brought to light a new face of extremism. Security analysts note the alarming trend of educated individuals becoming radicalized and adopting sophisticated methods, as seemingly demonstrated by Dr. Nabi’s articulate, albeit warped, justifications.
