The alleged architect of the assault on singer Rahul Fazilpuria and the subsequent murder of his associate, Rohit Shokeen, has been extradited to India. Sunil Sardhania, believed to be the mastermind, was apprehended in Zurich, Switzerland, and brought back to the country to face charges.
Fazilpuria, widely known for Haryanvi hits such as ‘2 Many Girls’ and ‘Kar Gayi Chull’, was targeted in a shooting on July 14th near Badshahpur on Gurugram’s SPR. The singer narrowly escaped unharmed when assailants fired two bullets at his car. The quick-thinking artist managed to accelerate away from the dangerous situation.
Just weeks later, on August 4th, Rohit Shokeen, a close associate of Fazilpuria and a property dealer, was brutally murdered by motorcycle-borne attackers in Sector 77, Gurugram. Following the murder, Sardhania publicly claimed responsibility for Shokeen’s death on social media platforms, drawing further scrutiny.
Initial police findings suggest a motive involving intense gang rivalries and substantial financial disputes. The investigation has also brought Deepak Nandal, a friend of the deceased Shokeen, into focus as a prime suspect, potentially due to unresolved financial obligations and personal animosity.
Rahul Fazilpuria, whose real name is Rahul Yadav, enjoys considerable popularity, particularly on Instagram, and is also known for his connection with internet personality Elvish Yadav. Their past association was highlighted during a controversy involving exotic animals in a music video. The ongoing legal process aims to ensure accountability for all involved parties.
