Amid escalating tensions along the Thailand-Cambodia border, the Indian Embassy in Bangkok has issued a travel advisory for Indian citizens. Travelers are advised to stay informed by consulting official Thai sources, including the TAT Newsroom. Thailand’s popularity with Indian tourists continues to grow, with over 2.1 million visits in 2024, making India the third-largest source market. The visa-free policy has contributed significantly to this growth. The current border dispute, originating from historical disagreements, has witnessed a recent uptick in violence, including exchanges of fire and landmine incidents. This has led to border closures, diplomatic repercussions, and retaliatory actions from both countries.
