Following the confirmation that gangster Anmol Bishnoi has been “removed from the United States,” the family of late NCP leader Baba Siddique has urgently appealed to both central and state governments to ensure his return to India. Anmol, the younger brother of infamous gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, is a key suspect in the murder of Baba Siddique, who was tragically shot in Bandra last year. Notification of Bishnoi’s exit from the U.S. was officially communicated on November 18 via an email from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Victim Information Notification Exchange (DHS-VINE).
Zeeshan Siddique, Baba Siddique’s son, confirmed that his family receives regular updates from U.S. authorities as they are registered victims. The critical question remains whether Bishnoi will be deported to India, a development Zeeshan strongly advocates for. He urged the Indian government and the Maharashtra administration to guarantee Bishnoi’s repatriation, followed by thorough interrogation and arrest in Mumbai. Zeeshan described Anmol Bishnoi as a grave threat to society, highlighting his alleged role in his father’s murder and other serious offenses, including the recent shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence. The family believes that bringing Bishnoi back to India is indispensable for exposing the full extent of the conspiracy behind Baba Siddique’s killing and identifying all those responsible.
Separately, the Bombay High Court has asked the Maharashtra government to submit its response to a petition filed by Shehzeen Siddique, Baba Siddique’s widow, seeking a court-supervised investigation by an independent agency or SIT. Investigators have pieced together Anmol Bishnoi’s escape route, which began with him leaving India on a forged passport, proceeding through Nepal, Dubai, and Kenya before reaching the United States. His detention in the U.S. in November 2024 initiated the deportation process that has now concluded. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has placed Bishnoi on its most-wanted list, offering a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest. He is a suspect in at least 18 criminal cases in India, including masterminding the murder of Baba Siddique, and is also linked to the May 2022 assassination of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, allegedly orchestrated from abroad. His alleged involvement in the April 2024 firing incident at Salman Khan’s Bandra home further solidifies his connection to the wider Bishnoi criminal enterprise.
