In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, a man was sentenced to life in prison and fined ₹90,500 by a local court for raping and murdering a six-year-old girl. Manveer was convicted by POCSO Court Special Judge Alka Bharti. The prosecution stated that the girl was playing outside her home when Manveer took her to his room, raped her, killed her, and fled. The incident occurred in the Mansurpur area. In a separate incident, a 24-year-old woman from Tilak Nagar reported being gang-raped by a group of people, including another woman, in North Delhi’s Civil Lines area. The alleged assault took place after she was invited to a party.
