
Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami engaged in high-level discussions in New Delhi, focusing on key infrastructure and development initiatives for the state. During a meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Dhami proposed merging the Ranikhet and Lansdowne Cantonment areas with local municipalities to improve tourism and public services. He also requested the use of military helipads for regional air travel and a fee waiver for the Indian Air Force’s disaster relief efforts. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of maintaining the Tharali Dewal-Mundoli-Van motor road, a critical route for the Nanda Devi Raj Jat Yatra. The Defence Minister assured favorable consideration of all proposals. Earlier, the Chief Minister also met with Union Ministers Manohar Lal, requesting support for housing projects, hydroelectric projects, and power infrastructure development. Discussions included automation of power lines in the Rishikesh-Haridwar area, financial assistance for hydroelectric and pump storage projects, and approval of the Pitkul projects. Dhami also suggested modifications to the financial support system for housing projects under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) and advocated for extending the RRTS to Haridwar.
