With the Bihar Assembly elections drawing closer, public attention is turning towards the personal wealth of the state’s influential leaders. Newly revealed asset declarations place BJP leader Samrat Choudhary at the top of the financial ladder among the prominent political figures.
Samrat Choudhary’s net worth is reported to be over Rs 11 crore. His investment strategy heavily favors real estate, with immovable assets valued at Rs 9.30 crore. His movable assets are equally impressive, featuring around ₹32 lakh in stocks and bonds, Rs 27 lakh in bank deposits, and Rs 18.5 lakh allocated to insurance and PPF. Furthermore, Choudhary and his wife possess Rs 40 lakh worth of gold and hold over Rs 1.7 lakh in physical cash.
In stark contrast, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s financial statement shows a more modest accumulation of wealth, totaling about Rs 1.64 crore. His assets are predominantly tied up in land and property, accounting for Rs 1.48 crore. His readily available funds, including bank balances and cash, stand at approximately Rs 16.97 lakh.
The wealth disparity among these key political figures highlights different financial approaches and priorities within Bihar’s leadership circle.
