
Union Home Minister Amit Shah met with officers in Delhi who were instrumental in the recent anti-Naxal operations conducted in Chhattisgarh, offering his congratulations on their significant achievement. Shah emphasized the Modi government’s dedication to eradicating Naxalism from India.
Security forces, guided by the Union Home Minister, have been actively engaged in anti-Naxal operations in Chhattisgarh. A notable operation, carried out by the Chhattisgarh Police (including DRG units from Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur districts) in the interior areas of Abujhmad from May 18 to May 21, culminated in a significant encounter on May 21 in Boter village forests. The encounter resulted in the elimination of 27 Naxals, including CPI (Maoist) General Secretary Basavaraju alias Gaganna, along with the recovery of a substantial amount of weaponry and ammunition.
The officers recognized included Chhattisgarh Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav, and Superintendent of Police Shalabh Singh. The meeting was also attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sharma, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, and Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, among other senior officials.
