Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition, has called out the Election Commission of India for its response to claims of electoral malfeasance in Maharashtra. Gandhi took issue with the ECI’s use of unsigned notes and demanded a more transparent response. He called on the ECI to answer specific questions outlined in his article, including the publication of comprehensive digital voter rolls and the release of CCTV footage from polling stations. The ECI had previously defended the integrity of the Maharashtra elections, describing Gandhi’s accusations as baseless. Gandhi, however, maintained that the Maharashtra assembly elections were rigged, with potential for the same in the upcoming Bihar elections. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde criticized Gandhi’s statements as an attempt to spread misinformation.
