The Asia Cup is on the horizon, and fitness tests are underway to assess the readiness of players for India’s title defense. This report provides updates on Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, and Suryakumar Yadav.
Hardik Pandya’s fitness test is scheduled for August 11th and 12th. He has reached the NCA in Bengaluru for the assessment, and the results will be available soon.
Shreyas Iyer has passed his fitness test, completed between July 27th and 29th. Despite his last T20 International appearance being in 2023, his return to the Asia Cup squad is anticipated based on strong performances in domestic cricket and the IPL.
Suryakumar Yadav, the T20 captain, is still recovering from a hernia operation performed in June. He is expected to remain at the NCA for another week under medical supervision.
The Asia Cup will commence on September 9th in the UAE, and the announcement of the Indian team is expected shortly.
