The India-Pakistan rivalry is set to continue in the Asia Cup 2025, with the two teams facing each other in the Super-4 round. Adding to the pre-match drama, the Pakistani team has opted out of holding a press conference before the game. This decision has stirred debate, raising questions about the team’s willingness to face scrutiny. Mohsin Naqvi, the PCB and ACC Chairman, responded with a brief comment when asked about the situation. Prior to the match, Naqvi was seen with the Pakistan squad in Dubai, engaging in discussions with coach Mike Hesson and captain Salman Ali Agha, as well as other team members. The impact of his actions on the Pakistan team’s performance will be assessed during their game against India. Naqvi’s brief response provided little insight into the reasons behind the press conference cancellation. Pakistan previously exhibited similar behavior after losing to India in the group stage, demanding the removal of the match referee and threatening to boycott the match against the UAE. Despite the earlier threats, the team participated in the match but later cancelled a press conference prior to the Super-4 match with India.
