The Asia Cup 2025 is fast approaching, with Bangladesh intensifying its preparations. The tournament, commencing on September 9th, will feature eight teams competing in the T20 format. Bangladesh has introduced a new training approach to enhance their batting power.
Julian Wood, a power-hitting coach, has been recruited to implement this innovative training. The team is utilizing the ProVelocity bat, an instrument commonly used in baseball and softball, to improve their hand-eye coordination and power-hitting skills. Photographs from the training sessions show players like Litton Das practicing with the specialized equipment under Wood’s guidance.
The ProVelocity bat, known for its 32-inch length and approximately 1190-gram weight, is intended to optimize the players’ batting techniques. A team member shared their positive experience with the new training methods.
Wood’s previous work with English batsmen has yielded significant improvements in their power-hitting capabilities. Bangladesh is set to begin their Asia Cup journey on September 11th against Hong Kong, and will also face Sri Lanka and Afghanistan in the group stage.
