Yuki Bhambri, a leading doubles specialist from India, is making waves in professional tennis. Bhambri, born on July 4, 1992, became a professional player in 2008. He is a right-handed player employing a two-handed backhand. His accomplishments include winning the Australian Open Junior title in 2009, a historic first for India. He also secured a silver and bronze medal at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games and bronze medals in both singles and doubles at the 2014 Asian Games. He achieved a career-high ranking of No. 26 in March 2025.
Bhambri and his doubles partner, Michael Venus from New Zealand, have secured a place in the men’s doubles semifinals at the 2025 US Open. They defeated the 11th-seeded duo of Nikola Mektic and Rajeev Ram with a score of 6-3, 7-6, 6-3 on Court 17 in New York. Bhambri is presently ranked No. 32 in the world and holds the top men’s doubles ranking in India. He will now compete in the semi-finals against Britain’s Neal Skupski and Joe Sailsbury. This recent success follows his pre-quarterfinal appearance at the US Open last year, where he played alongside Albano Olivetti of France.
