The diplomatic channels in cricket have successfully navigated the Asia Cup 2025 trophy controversy. India, the reigning champions, will soon be presented with their trophy following an amicable settlement between the BCCI and the PCB. Devajit Saikia, the BCCI secretary, revealed that he and PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi have agreed to resolve the issue cordially. The crucial discussions took place during ICC meetings, where a senior ICC official played a mediating role. Saikia highlighted the positive nature of the interactions, noting that the ‘ice has been broken’ and negotiations are progressing well. Both boards are committed to exploring all possible avenues to ensure the trophy reaches the Indian team at the earliest. This resolution underscores a collaborative approach to resolving cricketing matters.
