The rivalry between England and India will be intensified with the introduction of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, a tribute to James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar. This trophy will be the prize for the upcoming five-Test series, starting June 20, which also commences a new cycle of the ICC World Test Championship. The ECB revealed the trophy, featuring the images and signatures of the two cricket legends. Both Anderson and Tendulkar were present at the unveiling ceremony, adding a special sentiment to the long-standing rivalry. The series will be replacing the Pataudi Trophy, which was started in 2007 to honor Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. However, the legacy of the Pataudi Trophy will be continued with the introduction of the Pataudi Medal. James Anderson, who concluded his international career in 2024, holds the position of third-highest wicket-taker with 704 wickets. Sachin Tendulkar, the highest run-scorer in Test history, played 200 Tests. This new trophy celebrates the outstanding achievements of two of the greatest cricketers and showcases the historic rivalry between England and India in Test cricket.
