
The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 eliminator saw West Delhi Lions captain Nitish Rana produce a stunning display of batting, smashing a century in just 42 balls and hitting 15 sixes against South Delhi Superstarz. This performance powered his team into the Qualifier-2 stage of the tournament. The match, however, was marked by a near-fight incident involving Rana and South Delhi spinner Digvesh Rathi, the video of which went viral on social media.
The game, hosted at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, witnessed South Delhi Superstarz setting a target of 201 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs. West Delhi Lions, in response, comfortably chased down the score, winning with seven wickets to spare and 17 balls unused. Nitish Rana’s remarkable innings saw him score 134 runs off 55 balls, including 8 fours and 15 sixes. He dominated the South Delhi bowlers, hitting three consecutive sixes off Digvesh Rathi’s over, which cost 20 runs. Chris Yadav scored 31 runs, while Mayank Gosain remained unbeaten with 15 runs for West Delhi. Sumit Kumar Beniwal took two wickets for South Delhi, and Aman Bharti claimed one.
South Delhi Superstarz’s innings saw Ankur Kaushik and Anmol Sharma build a 67-run partnership. Sharma scored 55 runs from 39 balls, including 7 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Tejashwi Dahiya and Sumit Mathur also played key roles, with Dahiya scoring 60 runs and Mathur contributing an unbeaten 48. Ritik Shaukin took two wickets for West Delhi Lions, while Shubham Dubey, Shivank Vashisht, and Anirudh Chaudhary each took a wicket.
