England’s hopes in the T20I series against India have been dealt a blow as captain Nat Sciver-Brunt is sidelined due to a groin injury. The injury occurred during the third T20I, where she had to leave the field prematurely. The ECB has confirmed that Sciver-Brunt sustained a strain to her left groin, ruling her out of the remainder of the T20I series. Tammy Beaumont will assume the captaincy role. Maia Bouchier has been brought into the squad as a replacement. Sciver-Brunt is expected to be fit for the ODI series starting on July 16. India currently leads the series 2-1, making England’s task more challenging.
