The USA Cricket board, recently suspended by the ICC, has taken the unprecedented step of filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This decision, made ahead of a hearing concerning a disagreement with American Cricket Enterprises, marks a first for an ICC member. Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows an entity to reorganize its finances under court supervision, enabling continued operation. The move could impact players recently contracted by USA Cricket, as well as those involved in major and minor cricket leagues. Questions also arise regarding the team’s participation in the upcoming T20 World Cup in 2026.
