The ICC has banned former Sri Lankan cricketer Saliya Saman for five years following his involvement in corrupt activities. The ban, effective from September 13, 2023, was implemented after Saman was found guilty by a tribunal of attempting to fix matches in the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 tournament. The ICC’s statement on Friday, August 15, detailed that Saman was also charged with offering rewards to other players for engaging in corrupt conduct, as well as soliciting and encouraging others to breach the code.
