In a fitting tribute to their illustrious careers, the Punjab Cricket Association has announced that two new stands at the PCA Stadium in Mullanpur will be dedicated to Indian cricket icons Harmanpreet Kaur and Yuvraj Singh. The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled for December 11th, aligning with the fourth T20I match between India and South Africa. This significant honor recognizes Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership in guiding the Indian women’s team to a World Cup victory, a historic milestone for the sport. Equally celebrated is Yuvraj Singh, whose all-round prowess was instrumental in India clinching two World Cup titles. PCA Secretary Siddhant Sharma stated that naming stands is a humble way to acknowledge their extraordinary contributions to Indian cricket and the nation. He further added that this initiative aims to inspire young talent, particularly female athletes, drawing motivation from the accomplishments of players like Kaur and Smriti Mandhana. The event at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium is anticipated to be a moment of immense pride for the cricketing fraternity.
