The stage is set for an expanded ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in 2026, with all 20 teams now confirmed. India and Sri Lanka are gearing up to host the global cricketing spectacle. The final three slots in this record-breaking tournament have been claimed by Nepal, Oman, and the UAE, who triumphed in the Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier.
Nepal is set to participate for the third time in total and second consecutive occasion. Oman will be making their fourth appearance, while the UAE secures its third participation, and first since 2022.
A notable highlight is the inaugural appearance of Italy, who qualified through the European Qualifier, joining the Netherlands. As reigning champions from the 2024 edition, India will be a strong contender, aiming to add to their tally as one of the few teams to have won the T20 World Cup multiple times, alongside England and the West Indies.

The top two finishers from each preliminary group will advance to the Super Eights. This stage will comprise two groups of four, with the top two teams from each group earning a spot in the semi-finals.
The complete list of qualified teams is: India, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, South Africa, USA, West Indies, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Canada, Italy, Netherlands, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Nepal, Oman, and UAE.
