Shreyas Iyer’s struggles with the bat persist, as he failed to make a significant contribution against Australia A in the recent unofficial Test match in Lucknow. Iyer managed only 8 runs off 13 balls before being dismissed by an Australian spinner. This adds to concerns about his form, following his disappointing performances in the Duleep Trophy 2025, where he failed to score big runs in the semi-final. However, amidst Iyer’s struggles, four Indian batsmen put on a strong display, scoring half-centuries and driving India A towards a score nearing 400 runs. Narayan Jagadeesan, the wicketkeeper, scored 64 runs, while Sai Sudarshan contributed 73 runs. Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel also played solid innings, with Jurel nearing a century. Earlier, Australia A had a commanding first innings, scoring 532/6 declared, with two batsmen reaching centuries.
