India’s commanding performance in the Asia Cup 2025, highlighted by their comprehensive victory against the UAE, was over in a flash. The Indian team secured the win through strong bowling, particularly by bowlers like Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah. All-rounder Shivam Dube contributed to the success by claiming three wickets. Following his impressive performance, Dube’s comments about a teammate captured attention.
In the match held in Dubai on September 10, India defeated the UAE by nine wickets. India chose to bowl first, dismissing the UAE for just 57 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took four wickets, including three in a single over. Shivam Dube also performed well, capturing three wickets in two overs and playing a crucial role in the UAE’s dismissal. Dube didn’t bat as India reached the target within 4.3 overs.
Shivam Dube, present at the post-match press conference, addressed various topics. When asked about comparisons with Hardik Pandya, Dube’s response drew admiration. Describing Hardik as a brother, Shivam Dube stated, “Hardik Pandya is like my brother. I am always learning from his advice and his words. He has more experience than me in international cricket and IPL. I have never thought about the comparison because my only aim is to learn from his experience.”
In the context of the match, Shivam Dube took three wickets for only 4 runs, while Hardik Pandya did not take any. Both were unused with the bat. India’s next match is against Pakistan, and there’s anticipation for both all-rounders to jointly perform well, leading to praise for their partnership rather than comparisons.
