This feat is reminiscent of his blistering performance in the IPL. Pollard’s aggressive batting performance not only set a new standard for speed in the CPL but also matched his previous record from the IPL.
Playing against the Guyana Amazon Warriors, the 38-year-old Pollard showcased his power by scoring his fastest half-century in the CPL. Coming in at number six, he set the field ablaze, significantly boosting his team’s score. Pollard achieved his half-century in just 17 balls, with five sixes. His previous best in the CPL was 18 balls, achieved in 2018. This places him third in the list of fastest half-centuries in CPL history. Andre Russell holds the record with 14 balls, followed by JP Duminy with 15 balls.
In this match, Pollard scored an undefeated 54 runs from 18 balls against Guyana Amazon Warriors, maintaining a strike rate of 300. This innings included 5 sixes and 5 fours, contributing to Trinbago Knight Riders’ score of 167 runs for 5 wickets in their 20 overs.
