The high-voltage match was played at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Stadium in New Chandigarh, where Mumbai won the toss and scored 228 for 5 wickets while batting first. In response, the Gujarat Titans team could only manage 208 runs for 6 wickets in 20 overs.
Rohit Sharma played a match winning innings of 81 runs
For Mumbai Indians, batsman Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 81 runs. He hit 9 fours and 4 sixes in his 50 -ball innings. During this innings, Rohit also completed his 300 sixes in the IPL. Apart from him, Johnny Bairstow contributed 47, Suryakumar Yadav 33, Tilak Verma 25 and captain Hardik Pandya contributed 22 not out.
Sai Sudarshan showed power from Gujarat, but did not win
The Gujarat Titans started poorly chasing a target of 229 runs. Captain Shubman Gill went to LBW off Trent Bolt by scoring just 1 run. Although Sai Sudarshan played a brilliant innings of 80 runs, Richard Glison gave a big blow to Gujarat by cleaning it. Washington Sundar also scored 48 runs, but he was bowled on Jaspreet Bumrah’s Yorker. In the end, Rahul Tewatia and Shah Rukh Khan stayed at the crease, but could not win the team.
Trent Bolt took 2 important wickets in Mumbai’s bowling, which included the wickets of Gill and Rutherford. Bumrah and Santner also got one success each. Famous for Gujarat, Krishna and Sai Kishore took two wickets each.

With this victory, Mumbai Indians will now take on Punjab Kings in Qualifier-2 on 1 June. The journey of Gujarat Titans ended here in 2025.
