Liverpool is reportedly on the brink of signing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for a fee of £45 million, intensifying their activity in the summer transfer market. The arrival of Kerkez, a left-back, follows the recent acquisition of Jeremie Frimpong, a defender aimed at reinforcing Liverpool’s defense after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure. Simultaneously, the club is also pursuing Florian Writz to enhance the competition for Andy Robertson on the left side. With Robertson’s form showing a decline, and Kostas Tsimikas in a supporting role, the need for additional options is clear. Milos Kerkez, a 20-year-old Hungarian player, has expressed his desire to join Liverpool. The potential transfer is being facilitated by Liverpool’s sporting director, Richard Hughes, with Bournemouth’s recent signing of Adrien Truffert suggesting the deal is close. A key question is which jersey number Kerkez will be assigned. His preferred No. 3 is currently worn by Wataru Endo. If Endo leaves Liverpool or selects another number, Kerkez could potentially take the No. 3 shirt. During the 2024-25 season, Kerkez played 41 games for Bournemouth. In the Premier League, he played 38 matches, scoring two goals and providing six assists.
