
Mohammed Siraj’s impactful performance in the Oval Test has earned him both financial rewards and recognition. He was instrumental in India’s six-run victory, taking a total of nine wickets, with five crucial wickets in the second innings. His bowling prevented England from achieving victory, thus securing a memorable win for India. Aside from the match fee, Siraj will also receive a bonus from the BCCI. The BCCI pays a match fee of 15 lakh rupees to players selected in the playing 11 for each Test match, including Siraj for the Oval Test. In addition, Siraj will receive an extra 5 lakh rupees from the BCCI due to a special provision. The BCCI has a rule where bowlers who take five or more wickets in a single innings are given a 5 lakh rupees bonus. Siraj’s five-wicket haul in the second innings qualified him for this bonus. He was also awarded the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. However, unlike in India, players in England are not given a monetary reward for being the Player of the Match, and they just receive a trophy.
