Nitish Rana is on the verge of rejoining Delhi for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season, marking a return after a challenging two years with Uttar Pradesh (UP). The left-handed batsman has obtained a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA), allowing him to make the move.
UPCA CEO Ankit Chatterjee stated that Rana had requested the NOC for family reasons. The Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) is aware of Rana’s intent, as confirmed by secretary Ashok Sharma, though formal confirmation is pending receipt of the NOC.
Rana began his domestic career with Delhi, rising through the age groups. He moved to Uttar Pradesh in 2023 and was appointed captain. His performances in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy were below par, with only 150 runs in four matches. Similarly, his T20 campaign was weak, and he was dropped from the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Rana looks to reignite his career with a return to Delhi.
