The Asia Cup 2025 has highlighted the questionable behavior of Pakistani cricketers. Following the gun celebration by Sahibzada Farhan after his fifty against India, and a strange gesture by Haris Rauf while fielding, the match against Sri Lanka witnessed another incident. A Pakistani player overstepped by imitating Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, leading to a public mocking of Pakistan’s spinner, Abrar Ahmed, by Hasaranga.
Abrar Ahmed had mimicked Wanindu Hasaranga. During the Super-4 match of the Asia Cup 2025 between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Pakistan won by 5 wickets. A moment occurred that embarrassed Pakistan’s spinner, Abrar Ahmed. In the 13th over of Sri Lanka’s innings, Abrar Ahmed dismissed Wanindu Hasaranga. He then began to imitate Hasaranga.
Hasaranga didn’t react at the time, but when Pakistan batted, he sought revenge. After dismissing Sam Ayub, Hasaranga mimicked Abrar Ahmed, embarrassing the Pakistani spinner. The video quickly went viral.
After the match, Abrar Ahmed and Wanindu Hasaranga embraced, resolving any issues. Abrar Ahmed bowled well, taking one wicket for 8 runs in 4 overs. Hasaranga scored 15 runs and took two wickets, but his team lost.
Sri Lanka scored 133/8 in 20 overs. Pakistan chased the target, winning by 5 wickets in 18 overs.
