The much-anticipated Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 final between India and South Africa in Navi Mumbai experienced a significant delay due to heavy rain. While the teams were ready to battle for the title, the wet outfield pushed back the start time, leaving fans anxious about the match’s fate.
Tournament organizers prioritize completing the final on Sunday, November 2. Overs will only be curtailed after 5 PM, with a two-hour buffer available. A minimum of 20 overs per side can be played until 9:08 PM IST. In the unfortunate scenario where Sunday’s play is entirely rained out, a reserve day is in place on November 3. This ensures that a champion can be crowned. If, by any chance, the reserve day also succumbs to the weather, the ICC’s playing conditions dictate that the trophy will be shared between India and South Africa, marking a historic joint victory.
