The match took place in Mysore on August 22, featuring Shivamogga Lions and Mangalore Dragons. The Dragons batted first and set a challenging target of 200 runs in their 20 overs. Lochan, the 23-year-old opener, significantly contributed to this score, emerging as the team’s top scorer. His innings comprised 63 runs off just 32 balls.
The most spectacular moment of Lochan’s innings occurred in the 11th over when he launched a relentless attack against the Lions’ bowler, D. Ashok. Lochan began the over with a six and followed it up with four consecutive sixes, sending the ball soaring over the boundary each time. Though he didn’t get a sixth consecutive six, scoring only 2 runs on the fifth ball, he concluded the over with another six. In total, Lochan scored 32 runs in this single over, including five sixes. Remarkably, out of his total score of 63 runs, 32 runs came from this single over. He hit 5 sixes and 2 fours in his innings.
Following Lochan’s stunning performance, Tushar Singh, the opener for Shivamogga Lions, also produced an aggressive batting display. Chasing a large target, Singh scored 89 runs off 48 balls, including 7 sixes and 6 fours. Hardik Raj scored 32 runs from 14 balls, bringing the team closer to victory. However, with 6 runs needed on the last ball, the team couldn’t achieve it, resulting in the Lions losing the match by 5 runs.
