
Riyan Parag has been named the captain of the Assam senior men’s cricket team for the upcoming Dr. (Capt.) K. Thimmappa Memorial Cricket Tournament. The tournament is set to begin on September 4th, with the Assam Cricket Association announcing a 20-member squad. The team will feature a mix of experienced players and emerging talents, including Danish Das, Swarupam Purkayastha, and Subhankar Roy, under the captaincy of Riyan Parag. Players like Abhishek Thakur, Mukund Hussain, Anurag Talukdar, and Amlanjyoti Das are also part of the team. The coaching staff includes Noel David as coach and manager, Rajib Ranjansri as physio, Bhesham Pratap Singh as trainer, and Rajesh Sharma as video analyst. Parag will also be a part of the East Zone team for the 2025 Duleep Trophy, where he has been appointed as vice-captain. The Duleep Trophy 2025 will start on August 28th. Riyan Parag had captained Rajasthan Royals in a few matches in the IPL this year.
