The upcoming India-Pakistan clash in the Asia Cup 2025, scheduled for September 14th at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, is highly anticipated, especially given the context of the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s Operation Sindoor. Shahid Afridi has once again become a point of discussion after making controversial comments about Indian cricketers. He took aim at Shikhar Dhawan and Yuvraj Singh, focusing on the cancellation of the World Championship of Legends match against Pakistan. Afridi’s criticism suggested a single player, referencing Dhawan, was responsible for the issues. During an interview, Afridi expressed his view that cricket should facilitate improved relations between the two countries. He raised concerns regarding the cancellation, pointing out that fans had bought tickets, and players had already practiced. He added comments about the problems some players face, and the need to constantly prove their identity. Afridi noted that some of these players are now working as commentators during the Asia Cup.
