Carlos Alcaraz secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2025 US Open following a dominant quarter-final victory on Tuesday. He defeated Jiri Lehecka in straight sets, continuing his strong showing at the tournament and keeping his hopes alive for his first hard-court Grand Slam title since 2022. The 22-year-old player finished the match with scores of 6-4, 6-2, and 6-4 in less than two hours, thereby maintaining his perfect record of not losing a set in the current US Open. He is now set to face either Novak Djokovic, a four-time champion, or last year’s finalist Taylor Fritz in the upcoming match. Alcaraz shared that he occasionally watches his highlights, especially when his younger brothers are watching. He added that reviewing his shots helps him during matches. He also mentioned his strategy of not fixating on the No. 1 ranking to avoid pressure, preferring to focus on his gameplay and goals. With 59 wins and six titles in 2025, Alcaraz is on track for a remarkable season, potentially surpassing his 2023 performance, which saw him achieve 65 wins and six titles.
