Alexander Zverev has clinched his place at the upcoming ATP Finals, extending his impressive streak of appearances at the season-ending tournament to eight. The German star secured his qualification for the 2024 event following his progression to the Vienna semi-finals, a development further solidified by Tallon Griekspoor’s withdrawal.
Zverev will now join an already formidable lineup at Turin’s Inalpi Arena, which includes Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and Novak Djokovic. The tournament is set to run from November 9th to November 16th, promising a thrilling conclusion to the tennis calendar.
The Hamburg native has demonstrated consistent excellence throughout the year. His campaign included a strong showing at the Australian Open, reaching a Grand Slam final, and clinching his 24th career ATP Tour title in Munich. Additional notable performances saw him reach the final in Stuttgart and make deep runs to the semi-finals in Toronto and Cincinnati Masters 1000 events, all of which contributed to his secure position in the ATP Live Race To Turin.
Zverev’s track record at the ATP Finals is significant, with a 17-10 overall win-loss record. Since the tournament’s relocation to Turin in 2021, he has been particularly dominant, posting a 9-3 record. His past triumphs include winning the championship in 2018 and 2021, making him one of the few active players to have secured multiple ATP Finals titles. He has also reached the final four in 2019 and 2024. The competition remains fierce for the remaining four singles berths, with Fritz being the next in line for qualification.
