With Gautam Gambhir’s unexpected return to India due to a family emergency, the BCCI has turned to VVS Laxman to manage the Indian team’s preparations. Laxman, who already holds positions as the head of the Centre of Excellence and the coach of the Indian Under-19 team in England, has been assigned to oversee the team. The team is currently involved in a four-day practice match. Laxman’s history of working with the team and his experience as an interim coach make him a familiar and reliable option. Gambhir is scheduled to be back in England by the time the first Test match against England begins.
