West Delhi Lions triumphed in the Delhi Premier League 2025, securing the title with a six-wicket victory against Central Delhi Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on August 31st.
Central Delhi Kings, batting first, posted a score of 173/7 in their 20 overs. Yugal Saini scored a valuable 65 runs, while Pranshu Vijayran’s rapid 50* off 24 balls helped boost the CDK score.
Manan Bhardwaj and Shivank Vashisht each took two wickets for West Delhi, putting pressure on the Kings’ batting lineup.
West Delhi Lions lost early wickets in their chase, but Nitish Rana’s exceptional innings of 79 off 49 balls revived their title hopes. They reached the target of 174/4 in 18 overs.
Hrithik Shokeen scored an unbeaten 42, contributing significantly to the successful chase alongside Rana.
The game saw West Delhi Lions winning the toss and choosing to field, a decision that proved effective as their bowlers restricted CDK.
After a disappointing fifth-place finish the previous year, West Delhi had an outstanding season in 2025, ultimately winning the championship in a dramatic fashion.
