Yashasvi Jaiswal has added another milestone to his career, achieving his 5th Test century. This century, his first in England, was scored during the 1st Test against England in Leeds. He reached the 100-run mark in 144 balls, including 16 fours and 1 six. This was a crucial innings for India, who had lost early wickets. Captain Shubman Gill also scored a half-century. The young batsman has established a unique record: India has never lost a match in which Jaiswal has scored a century.
Jaiswal’s centuries consistently result in India winning by significant margins. In his debut match in the West Indies in 2023, he scored 171 runs, and India won by an innings and 141 runs. During the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in 2024, he scored 161 runs in the second innings in Perth, which led to a 295-run victory. Playing against England in India in 2024, Jaiswal scored 209 runs in the second Test and an unbeaten 214 in the third Test, both of which India won comfortably. His centuries have consistently come at crucial moments, resulting in a win for India every time he has reached a century.
With the help of Gill’s century, India is currently dominating England, displaying their potential to compete against top teams like England.
