Ayush Mhatre, a rising star for Mumbai and the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), is setting the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy alight with his exceptional batting. Mhatre has achieved the rare feat of scoring consecutive centuries in the ongoing T20 competition. Just days after his maiden T20 century (110 off 53 balls) against Vidarbha, the young batsman struck gold again. He played a match-winning unbeaten knock of 104 off 59 balls to guide Mumbai to an emphatic nine-wicket victory over Andhra. Mhatre displayed incredible power-hitting, smashing nine sixes and five fours during his exceptional innings. He shared an unbeaten 105-run stand with national T20 skipper Suryakumar Yadav. This latest century is part of an incredible run for the 18-year-old, who has been retained by CSK. Mhatre’s dual centuries also mark a significant personal achievement, establishing him as the youngest Indian cricketer to record centuries across First-class, List A, and T20 formats. This outstanding form also sees him leading the India U-19 squad for the Asia Cup.
