Afghanistan’s national cricket teams have been selected for their forthcoming tour of Zimbabwe, comprising a single Test match and three T20 Internationals. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has decided to rest Rashid Khan from the Test fixture, prioritizing his availability and performance for crucial upcoming international engagements, particularly the T20 World Cup. Hashmatullah Shahidi will captain the Test squad, which incorporates emerging talent based on domestic cricket achievements. Zia Ur Rahman Sharifi, Sharafuddin Ashraf, and Khalil Gurbaz are among the new additions to the red-ball squad. Furthermore, Gulbadin Naib has been omitted from the T20I contingent. This tour presents a chance for Afghanistan to build momentum and regain form in the shortest format of the game.
