
Airtel users across India faced major service disruptions on Sunday due to a network outage. Users reported issues including dropped calls, lack of network connectivity, and complete internet shutdowns. The company has not yet provided an official explanation for the problems. The outage represents the second major network failure in a week.
The network issues emerged around 10:44 AM and worsened by 12:14 PM. Approximately 7,000+ users encountered issues with both calls and internet access. This is the second instance of significant network failure this week, following a similar incident on August 19th which impacted over 3,500 users.
Reports of the outage have emerged from numerous locations throughout India, but the greatest impact has been observed in major cities including Delhi, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Cuttack, and Kolkata.
DownDetector’s analysis revealed that 52% of users experienced issues with calling, 32% had difficulties accessing the internet, and 17% suffered from a complete network blackout. Users are expressing their frustration and dissatisfaction on social media.
On social media, users have been actively expressing their concerns. One user, tagging airtelindia, stated their local network was entirely down. Another user reported no calls or internet in Karnataka. Many users are asking for a quick resolution to the network issues.
While there has been no official statement from Airtel regarding the outage, it is expected that the company will address the problem and provide a solution soon.
