As part of a move to foster relations and announce a massive investment in US manufacturing, Apple CEO Tim Cook gifted former President Donald Trump a unique, custom-made glass object. The glass piece, presented before a $100 billion US investment announcement, featured a 24-karat gold base, Trump’s name, and the Apple logo. The design was created by an American Marine Corps corporal working for Apple. Cook explained the glass was created with materials from the Corning company, with the gold base originating from Utah. This gift was followed by an announcement detailing Apple’s plan to increase its investment in the US to a total of $600 billion over four years. The investment includes sourcing rare earth magnets from US-based manufacturers.
