Apple is gearing up to enter the foldable smartphone market, with its inaugural foldable iPhone generating considerable buzz. Leaks and rumors have kept enthusiasts engaged, and now details regarding the launch, price, and features are surfacing.
Based on an investor note from JP Morgan analyst Samik Chatterjee, the foldable iPhone is anticipated to launch in September 2026, coinciding with the iPhone 18 Series, not the iPhone 17 series. This timeline is consistent with reports from industry sources.
Rumored specifications include a 7.8-inch inner display and a 5.5-inch outer display. The inner display is said to be crease-free. The lack of a crease would improve the viewing experience.
Analysts predict a price tag of $1,999 (around ₹1.74 lakh) for Apple’s first foldable phone. It could generate $65 billion in revenue for the company. Previous leaks suggested a base price of $2,300 (approximately ₹1.99 lakh). The initial release is expected to be limited. Folded, the phone is expected to be 9.2mm thick, and 4.6mm when unfolded.
