The upcoming release of Ghost of Yotei, the sequel to Ghost of Tsushima, is creating substantial interest among gamers. Developed by Sucker Punch, the game presents an open-world experience focused on a revenge narrative set in feudal Japan. The protagonist, Atsu, is a lone mercenary determined to avenge the death of her family, slain by the Yōtei Six. To fulfill her quest, Atsu adopts the identity of the “Ghost.”
Players will traverse the landscape of Ezo, which is inspired by 1600s Japan. Atsu’s journey will take her through diverse environments, including peaceful hot springs, misty forests, and snow-covered mountains. The game’s open-world structure allows players to decide the order in which they confront the Yōtei Six, providing a non-linear gameplay experience.
Ghost of Yotei retains its action combat framework while adding new features and weaponry. Players can utilize dual katanas, the powerful odachi, and a grappling hook for movement, including climbing cliffs and bypassing obstacles.
The release date is set for Thursday, October 2, at midnight, based on local time zones for most regions. In the United States, the game will launch at midnight on the East Coast.
Ghost of Yotei will be available exclusively on PlayStation 5. It is not planned for release on other platforms such as Nintendo or Xbox. The PS5 launch is planned for October 2, 2025. A PC version is anticipated, following a similar timeline to the initial game’s release. The Standard Edition is priced at Rs 4,999, and the Digital Deluxe Edition is available for Rs 5,599 on the PlayStation Store.
