Google is actively developing a PC that runs on the Android operating system. Qualcomm’s CEO, Cristiano Amon, has expressed his excitement after reviewing the device, describing it as exceptional. The initiative, as outlined by Google’s Head of Platforms and Devices, Rick Osterloh, intends to unify the company’s PC and mobile platforms. This involves constructing a shared technical structure for its PC and desktop computing offerings. Osterloh indicated that this approach will leverage Google’s AI tools, such as Gemini and the Assistant, to enhance the PC user experience and expand the Android ecosystem across all computing environments. Amon highlighted the device’s potential to bridge the gap between mobile and PC functionalities.
In other technology updates, Qualcomm is set to reveal its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. This advanced processor will likely be integrated into a wide array of high-end Android smartphones in the coming months. The Xiaomi 17 series will be among the first to feature this new processor, and other potential devices include the OnePlus 15, iQOO 15, and Realme 8 Pro.
