Apple has implemented a price increase for its iPhone Pro models, marking the first such change in seven years. The latest series has been released with some models experiencing price modifications. The iPhone Air, which replaces the Plus model, is also priced higher.
The iPhone 17 Pro now starts at $1099 (about ₹97,002), reflecting a $100 increase from the iPhone 16 Pro’s starting price of $999 (around ₹88,175) last year. This price point includes 256GB of storage, doubling the 128GB offered in the previous model.
Apple has also unveiled the iPhone Air, replacing the Plus model. The starting price for this new model is $999 (approximately ₹88,175), $100 more than the Plus model. Apple’s Chief Marketing Officer, Greg Joswiak, emphasized the enhanced entry-level storage across the entire lineup.
Price adjustments were expected by tech analysts and investors. Apple absorbed over $1 billion in tariff costs this quarter. Production relocation from China to India is underway, affecting product pricing. Despite higher prices for the Pro and Air models, the standard iPhone 17 is priced at $799 (approximately ₹70,522).
